I’m learning how to crochet efficiently.
So far I have completed three projects.
The first one was a tiny brown crochet hook holder made out of just one simple square of single crochet stitches, seamed closed with yellow thread on two sides. I used a crochet hook size of 5.00 mm.
Then I started a surprise project with blue bernat cottontot which is yet not done, and now I can’t complete it until I get a replacement 5.00 mm hook. Losing my hook was not very clever of me, was it? Nope nope! And I won’t say what I’m making cuz the person who this project is for reads this blog…
Neener Neener! I ain’t saying till you get it, kiddo!
Hehehe.
The second one was done with my remaining lone crochet hook sized 6.50 mm. I crocheted two squares using single crochet stitches. One square was done with two strands, one Sugar n Cream in green, the other Sugar n Cream in wine. That turned out to look extremely awesome as if it was very varigated. The second square was created out of just the wine yarn. Then I seamed the two squares together with single crochet stitches in the green yarn on three sides. This became my Pen holder.
The third project was done with the same yarns as the second project, except I made a rectangle using the same two strands in the same pattern. I, then, bordered the rectangle with two rows of single crochet stitches in the wine yarn. I now had a nice washcloth that I could use as a scrubber for the tub, since it would fold up in the middle and be a nice grip, leaving the ends to scrub the surfaces. Neat, isn’t it?
I am getting very proficient with single crochet stitches and crocheting in rows. I feel very pleased with having learned this skill! Now on to try to learn rounds which I still have not accomplished, in spite of several books, several websites!! Grrr!! I will LEARN this!!!
Blessed Be!!
